LLC "B&B Logistics" is a licensed customs broker that carries out international transportation, legal support of foreign economic activity (FEA), certification and customs clearance of import and export cargoes, and provides customs agent services on a contractual basis.

What is the difference between a customs agent and a customs broker (customs representative)

A customs agent is a legal entity that carries out all the necessary procedures for the delivery, customs clearance, certified, etc., of the customer's goods (cargo) to the recipient specified both in the territory of the Russian Federation and in foreign territory. Moreover, these services are provided with minimal involvement in this process of the customer (principal) and/or the recipient of the goods (cargo) specified by the customer (principal).

A customs agent, unlike a broker, is authorized to perform almost all tasks in the field of foreign economic activity - from the preparation and execution of purchase and sale transactions to customs clearance of import or export goods and their delivery to the recipient. These tasks in the field of foreign economic activity are provided by the Agent on behalf and by prior agreement with the customer.

In fact, the customs clearance agent is a team of highly qualified specialists - international lawyers, certification specialists, quality specialists, declarants, managers, financiers and accountants, specialists in foreign economic activity, logisticians, warehouse workers and drivers.

What services does a customs agent provide?

Within the framework of contractual relations, a customs agent acts on behalf of, in the interests and at the expense of the customer – the principal – and can provide him with the following services for foreign economic activity:

  • conclusion of a contract with foreign partners for the purchase/sale of products outside the Russian Federation, as well as gratuitous deliveries;

  • interaction with currency control bodies and commercial banks authorized by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation as currency control agents;

  • purchase and payment for the goods specified in the contract. Their range, quantity, cost, delivery time and the seller or manufacturer are set by the customer;

  • opening and maintenance of a foreign currency account;

  • determination of HS codes for products;

  • organization of certification of goods;

  • if necessary, obtaining licenses, permits, certificates of conformity, origin, sanitary, quarantine acts;

  • delivery of goods (development of routes, selection of a carrier, payment for transportation, forwarding, packaging);

  • if necessary – application of special labeling on goods (CIP, Shoe Labeling, Fur Products Labeling; Electronic Equipment Labeling; Automobile Tire Marking, Clothing Labeling; Perfume Labeling, etc.);

  • insurance of goods;

  • delivery of goods to temporary storage warehouses and/or customs warehouses.

  • placement in these warehouses and the implementation of all necessary formalities to comply with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

  • registration of goods in the Russian Federation and in the country of departure/receipt, payment of duties, taxes, fees;

  • delivery of goods (cargoes) of the customer (Principal) to the recipient specified by the customer (Principal).

  • other intermediary functions directly or indirectly arising from the Agency Agreement

A customs agent bears all obligations under contracts for the supply of goods and is responsible for possible risks in case of their loss, damage, shortage until its transfer to the principal. In this case, the ownership of the goods belongs to the principal.
